its true. all israeli propaganda. actually in reality, the ansar tribe were one of the original 7 jewish tribes. ones who went to war for the prophet mohammad and ansar is now translated as the helpers because of this fact. they were allowed to keep and practice their own religion. idiots do not know how to even target their propaganda correctly

My understanding is that Jama’at al-Tawhid wa-l-Jihad is a Salafi group (yes?), so it is interesting to see how they interpret 4:59. Here is an excerpt from Kamali, whom I believe to be a Hanafi scholar, in which he explains 4:58 and 4:59 as an authoritative statement that disputes are to be adjudicated not only according to the Qur’an and Sunna, but also consensus and analogy.

There are a number of āyāt in the Qurʾān which identify the sources of Sharīʿah and the order of priority between them. But one passage in which all the principal sources are indicated occurs in Sūra al-Nisāʾ (4:58-59) which is as follows: 'O you believers! Obey God and obey the Messenger and those of you who are in charge of affairs. If you have a dispute concerning any matter, refer it to God and to the Messenger,' 'Obey God in this āyah refers to the Qurʾān, and 'Obey the Messenger' refers to the Sunnah. Obedience to 'those who are in charge of affairs' is held to be a reference to ijmāʿ, and the last portion of the āyah which requires the referral of disputes to God and to the Messenger authorises qiyās.
Mohammad Hashim Kamali, Principles of Islamic Jurisprudence, 10 (Islamic Society Texts 2003).

Thanks Thomas for the info. I recently got to know another meaning for Al-Sahab. Apparently Al-Sahab was the name of Prophet Muhammad's turban. According to various hadiths, Muhammad wore black turbans for the most part, and those were named Al-Sahab.
So what is the connection between a turban and a cloud you may ask, well, Al-Sahab comes from the Arabic root of Sa-Ha-Ba, which means, to drag something in order to lengthen it. Muhammad's turban is said to have acted just like that when the wind blew on it – it flew in the air, lightly fluttering and extending over Muhammad's back and shoulders (romantic I know!). Same movement is seen in clouds when the atmospheric air blows on them, causing them to get different shapes and moving them effortlessly in the skies.
The Source for the above info: January 2012 publication by the Kurdish Ansar Al-Islam group explaining their banner, flag and official seal.
